Mabotsa Praises Billiat’s Possible “Replacement”
Midfielder Khama Billiat’s future at Kaizer Chiefs looks uncertain, so it may be the perfect time for the club to find a replacement.
Billiat, who joined Chiefs in August 2018 (and has scored a total of 24 goals in 125 appearances across all competitions), has not played an active game since October 2022 after undergoing surgery for a torn groin muscle. Prior to that, his on-pitch prowess was simply not up to scratch.
With his contract set to expire at the end of June, the 32-year-old Zimbabwean may or may not find himself at Naturena any longer.
Should he leave, club legend Isaac Mabotsa reckons that he should be replaced with Cape Town City attacker, Mduduzi Mdantsane.
“With Mdantsane, the boy has been proving himself season after season,” Mabotsa explained to a local soccer outlet recently. “He is a quality player. We need that quality in the team in terms of a number 10. If you check, Billiat has been out for some time.”
Reports indicate that Amakhosi are currently in talks with Cape Town City over signing Mdantsane, but these have yet to be confirmed.
